Federico Berto
Founding Scientist at Radical Numerics. Tokyo, Japan
I am a Founding Scientist at Radical Numerics, where I work on general biological intelligence and next-generation genome language models, agentic AI for Recursive Self-Improvement, and efficient architectures, among other things.
I obtained my Ph.D. in the Industrial and Systems Engineering department at KAIST, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Jinkyoo Park at the Systems Intelligence Laboratory (SILAB) .
My main research interests include:
- Efficient architectures beyond autoregressive transformers
- Genomic and biological foundation models (AI for Science; biosecurity and biodefense)
- AI for Combinatorial Optimization
- Multi-agent systems and agentic AI
I love to work on open-source projects. I recently co-founded the AI4CO open research group and collaborate with DiffEqML.
